"I know better" describes that mentality. Jesus came because "he knows better", he knows what I need and how I should live for me to be happy. Lord Jesus, save me from myself--my selfish thinking, my selfish ways of responding, my independent nature, and wanting to do everything 'my way' rather than your way.
