| Obedience is at the heart of Jesus' life and the core of the gospel. It is an attitude of the mind-eagerness to do the will of the Father! And what is His will for us today? To be a STRONG Church! "Do your own thing," we hear so often. This kind of attitude counteracts any willingness to even consider others' interests or needs before one's own (Philippians 2:4). Jesus Christ gave us Christian values to live by. Rather than these gospel values forming us, our contemporary society is doing this for us instead of the Church. A subtle undermining of Christian living is seen in materialism, secularism and individualism. "Minimalism" is what is encouraged. Many are falling into that trap. |
| If we are not on guard and willing to live Christianity as Jesus lived it, our pagan society will destroy Christian life. Non-Christian forces today will not permit weak Christianity to endure. We no longer have the option to continue with a minimalist approach to Christ. To do so is an open invitation to destruction. Our only option is to have a strong Church "I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth" (Revelation 3:15-16). To be lukewarm is a willingness to be satisfied with less commitment to Jesus Christ and to one another. Our "times" are critical! We can no longer afford to be lukewarm. |
